About Kiran

I’m Kiran Fothergill, your Conservative Party Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Middlesbrough and Thornaby East. As a proud local lad. I’ve grown up with Teesside front and centre in my life, and my passion for this brilliant place runs deep. I’m not here to play party politics—I’m here to be the experienced voice in business that Middlesbrough deserves.

With a family business that has thrived for 170 years, employing over 600 people across Teesside and the UK. I understand the challenges and opportunities that our community faces. Beyond the boardroom, I’m a dedicated Middlesbrough FC fan, just like many of you, eagerly awaiting the return of our town’s glory days.

Why me?

1. Passionate Representation

Middlesbrough is a community of hardworking, resilient and innovative people. I’m driven by the desire to represent the area I call home, putting aside party politics to champion the interests of our community. I believe in long-term planning, investment and making the right decisions for Middlesbrough. From economic issues to cultural issues from gender to our national history, I will speak up for common sense and stand up for my constituents. I have the skills to be effective as your MP: the financial literacy, the people skills, the energy to be Middlesbrough’s flagbearer 24/7,

2. Pro-Business Advocate

With a strong belief in the power of business and investment, I am committed to making Teesside thrive. I actively participate in business events across the region, working towards bringing life back to our high streets and revitalising Middlesbrough as a thriving town. I’m not just a candidate; I’m a committed, competent and approachable person who has dedicated himself to public service.

3. Community Engagement

My commitment extends beyond business to community matters. I see the bigger picture. By regularly attending meetings across the constituency, I listen to residents’ concerns and, most importantly, I get it and I care. Your voices matter, and I am here to ensure they are heard.

4. Teesside first, always

I bring a wealth of knowledge and academic expertise to the table with two degrees from the University of Oxford: a BA (Hons) in Modern Languages (German and Spanish) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Saïd Business School. Additionally, I hold a Master’s degree in Advanced International Studies from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna

Join me in shaping a brighter future for Middlesbrough and Thornaby East together; let’s build a community where every voice is heard, and where residents come first.
